I never said “give teachers guns” like was stated on Fake News @CNN & @NBC. What I said was to look at the possibility of giving “concealed guns to gun adept teachers with military or special training experience - only the best. 20% of teachers, a lot, would now be able to

Why not let ANY CCW carrier, teacher or parent carry a gun?! That is a quick, simple, no cost solution.
Some teachers are already packing heat. And of those, I’m sure some would volunteer for additional training on gun handling, tactics, and shooting in the event of a school attack.
Just the knowledge that they were there would be a strong deterrent to an attack.
The schools need to have a plan.
The latest “matter” was over in 3 minutes.
No time to strategerize, but need a plan as to who covers what and a bat signal to go off to kick off action.
Why not deputize some teachers and let them be uniformed and armed. A real deterrent to violence and misbehavior.
As I posted on a previous thread, Trump can’t control local schools but he does have influence on tax policy, which has long been used to reward desired behavior. Rather than solar power or electric cars, why not provide anyone who works at a school a generous tax credit for the purchase of a personal firearm and CCW training?

We need not give the staff guns— we give them a tax writeoff. It is required at their job. But I want then trained and paid extra from the feds. I want them to have immunity from prosecution. I want to protest our children.
Just saw an article that 250 teachers in CO signed up for a gun training class that had only 50 spots.
Uniforms are a bad idea. Why inform the perps who has the arms? Let the perps guess.
More uncertainty for the miscreants will provide better safety for everyone.

My local sheriff has already run classes to teach women how to defend themselves with a concealed sidearm. I’m sure teaching teachers to defend students would be no problem for the sheriff.

Seems like a no-brainer to allow those who have the desire to do so and can do so to do so.
This is only half the idea. If the knowledge of who was armed were commonly known, some one would seek to snatch the teachers weapon and then you would have the incident that the left thinks would be the end result of teachers having weapons. I know they would have the training to resist this but it is not always possible to win in this type of confrontation. Best to avoid it by having the weapons hidden from all and in my view, not even shared with unarmed faculty. Better if the shooter has to guess all the way.
I do believe these teachers should have deputy status. But I don’t think the uniform and visible weapon would enhance instruction. More likely it would pull the class interest away from the lesson. Note that Trump does not want shooter drills either. The students will not be helped by a reminder that they are in danger in the classroom and in the school hall.
There was an incredibly sweet teacher on Martha’s show from Utah. She armed herself after the Sandy Hook shooting. As sweet as she was, as gentle as she looked, I have no doubt she would protect the children in her care.
I don’t think the students should have any idea which teachers are carrying guns. It should be kept secret until it becomes necessary to spring into action.
Unfortunately, any outside LEOs who arrive to help also would have no way of knowing that an armed civilian is one of the good guys.
