My kid are grown and gone. But there were days when I would have traded them for half of that cost.
But, I would have been sad and paid to get them back. After a couple of weeks.

Exactly, and also the school is responsible for the kids safety after you drop them off. A few multi million dollar lawsuits will help the schools get their thinking right.
...and it'll work better - MUCH BETTER than ONE easily identified and easily taken out uniformed professional.
A person who can plan a school shooting can also plan to murder one ‘designated target’ first. Taking out twenty percent of teachers is a whole ‘nother’ thing...
