AMAzing game!
That winning goal was a thing of beauty.
too bad the men didn’t have anything close to those puck moves in their shootout..
Yeah, their pucks needed an ED drug or something.
Re: mens team. Yeah i heard! I dont even think we necessarily need NHL players to be allowed in, the Russian team this year had their “KHL” pro-players on their team (which included former NHL players) and still failed to medal apparently ...
Think Miracle hockey game 1980. Lake Placid! We need a good coach and more spirit/drive next time...its nice to give non-professionals a chance to play on that level.
It’s only women’s ice hockey. How could this be worthy of “Breaking News”???? heh heh
Shootout to win a championship is Euroweenie nonsense. Kudos to the US ladies but real hockey is won with both teams on the ice. I remember the Islanders knocking off the Capitals in an NHL semifinal in 1987, with game 7 going into the 4th overtime. Thats more than two entire games in one night! This is like deciding the Daytona 500 by running test laps. Exciting but its not hockey.
My 2 cents... as much as I’d like to be excited by this, I’m expecting for one of them to pop off at the mouth about how they don’t want to go to the WH or some such nonsense.
Just asked another user: but what is the limit of overtime periods in NHL?
We’ll take it.
There are soooo many of them, I have to assume a couple are Republicans to influence the whole group?
Im bereft, I missed all of the coverage. When did the network show the games? Glad we won; I adore the Lamoreaux sisters!
All the young ladies are beautiful and they all have all their teeth. :)
I was at UND when the girls dad, Roger, was a player in the mid 70’s. The girls got it naturally.
Regular season NHL OT is 5 minutes of 3 on 3 hockey.
It has gone from 5, to 4 to the current 3.
After that its a shootout.
Playoffs its full 20 minute periods of sudden death with no shootout possibilities.
I am definitely not a fan of playoff/elimination games going to a shootout. The NHL will never go the shootout route in the post-season.
Never.
In the Playoffs there is No Limit and No shootout. Flyer and Penguins played 3 regular periods AND 5 20 minute overtime periods.
I watched that game. I was drained from it too.
I seem to recall Kieth Primeau scoring the winning goal of a very long game. Is that the one? I watched that one too.
