I agree. And, I probably should have emphasized more, that if they meet the standard, whatever that may be, then I’m all for it. And I also realize that when people talk about arming teachers, they know that there’s more to it. But, there are other options, in addition to arming the staff, that can help prevent these types of incidents in the future. I would look at armed teachers more as, force multipliers, more than anything.
... until some kid with a grudge (or a gun-hating fellow staff member) has reason to suspect a teacher is carrying.
Then, that teacher's life changes forever.
Worth the risk? Could be.
Personally, if carrying at work risked my freedom and a felony conviction, I might be inclined to leave it locked in my glove compartment, where no one could possibly know.
But, that's exactly what all the cowardly, would-be murderous bastards and the legislators who enable them are depending on every law-abiding teacher to do.

Police called to his house 39 time, and he’s not considered a risk? FBI “dropped the ball”??? People died because of this chain of buffoonery.

It all depends on whether the attacker’s goal is to make a name for himself, kill kids who have bullied him, or to commit suicide by “cop.”
We arm adults at schools (actually layered security as is taught from Sheep Dog Seminars and other church security organizations) and these losers will be almost completely discouraged without the fish in a barrel scenario that has been presented by the liberals with their gun free zones, regardless of their motives.
