Gonna be tough to pay off the college loans for underwater fire prevention degrees working at Starbucks...
Underwater fire prevention sounds like it could be pretty well-paying, dealing with things like metal fires and the like in the petroleum industry or something to do with the big underwater comms cables etc.
It’s “underwater basket weaving”, or (more likely) some kind of “studies” degree, that is the no-future/no-career-path choice.
True, but that's looking at it from the viewpoint of the individual.
Obama had a different, longer range plan--giving everyone a meaningless college degree was the first step, and then forcing hiring based on that meaningless credential along racial lines was the second. Anything less would be discrimination.
It was his idea of a public-private partnership--government would force industry to pay for welfare out of private profit by carrying a bunch of ignorant drones.
One could even say that's been partially implemented under the name of diversity. Every white male knows he's got several strikes against him in promotion, hiring, or the grant parade if there's a pool of the politically favored available.
WORK!?
That's a demeaning four letter word.
They could always join the Swiss Navy.
We know of 183 students accepted to the University of the District of Columbia, the local community college.
Looks bad on the college. They accept everyone. Maybe my dog could get in.
That one gal who's in college admits (with poor grammar) she's not prepared for it.
“Gonna be tough to pay off the college loans for underwater fire prevention degrees working at Starbucks.”
Where are the “Trade Schools”? Underwater welding? Underwater plumbing? Underwater construction? Not to mention all of the ABOVE water trades that will get you REAL JOBS.
“Mechanics” of ALL types! Construction of ALL types.
Sure we need engineers, architects, physicians, etc., but EVERYONE doesn’t need an BA, MA, or PHD.
“I’m a plumber, what do you do?”
“I go to college”
“What will you do when you are finished with college?”
“Finish???? (panic on display) I, I, I haven’t really thought about that. There are always MORE courses to take and government loans to get”.
“The school district won’t know how many Ballou graduates enrolled in college overall until May, a spokesperson says. We know of 183 students accepted to the University of the District of Columbia, the local community college. But only 16 enrolled this fall.”
I think few will enroll in any college.
They don’t want to go to school.
The few that will enroll are totally unprepared for it, so many of those will drop out.
