We have the most bloated public schools system which pumps out the criminals
that keep the murder rate high.
COPS endorse concealed carry for Chicagoans as the best way to protect

Chicago is not “gun free”, obviously. The bad guys have all they want.
But you may not know that CCW is perfectly legal there with the proper permit. I know because I have one and I carry every single time I’m there, which is often. There’s also a surprising lack of “No Guns” signs even in the large downtown office buildings.
Even if the building has the legally correct signage I ignore it. Under current law all they can do is ask you to leave. And that’s if they see the gun.
Just laying some facts out there, that’s all.

Actually, Illinois is now “shall issue” CCW, and that includes Chicago. Not that I think any of the shooters was a legitimate CCW.
