It’s a loaded question.

When the RNC and affiliated funding groups always support the establishment candidate, and also support incumbents, it is virtually impossible for a real conservative or constitutionalist to win. So the candidates McConnell or Ryan support generally win, and like in the case of Roy Moore, the candidates they *actively* oppose usually lose. The Republican establishment would absolutely prefer to see D establishment winning over someone who will vote strictly with his/her oath of office. That’s why despite the risk of losing AK, for example, the swamp supported Murkowski over Miller, even after she lost the primary and came back as an independent. And that’s why not only did they oppose Moore based on phone 30-year old accusations, but some R’s like Flake donated to the D, or even encouraged R’s in AL to vote D.

Too bad you can’t answer the question, rather then dodging it and blaming others for your failed strategy.
