I made one once. Could launch half-bricks. Really went far but I basically couldn’t aim them.
Google “david sling”. There’s plenty of stuff out there.
I made my first sling when I was 8, out of a couple of bootlaces and a scrap of leather. Got to be fairly good at slinging, though never really expert. Nowadays my shoulder will only permit about two full-strength casts.
