How much worse can Mexico become? Read here yesterday that the Catholic Church has pulled out of a town near Acapulco because it has become too dangerous. I have wanted to drive from Texas to Panama to begin my retirement in a few years and a lot of folks say “don’t do it, it’s not safe”.

Reports like these make you wonder.

How about buying a boat and floating down to Panama. Then if things don’t work out, you can set sail for another friendlier port.

We can’t do that in Texas because we have too many guns and the boat won’t float. We lose a lot of guns and ammo due to sinking boat accidents.

We do manage to salvage and repair most of the boats as fast as we can. So if you need a boat, come on down. You can see them this time of year (when the grass is lower) scattered around in front yards, back yards, and pastures of our more rural property owners. If you want a heads up to the best selections, check with local fire departments, they know where to send you. BTW you might find an RV or two for sale by owner.

OTH you might get lucky and find one laying in a lake or creek bed during the drought season. Of course RV’s are harder to find in these scenarios but it could happen.

One final word of advice, watch out for rattlesnakes and other creatures who love to nest in them. Same for RV’s except be sure there’s noone living in them because the occupants will probably be locked and loaded.
