A survey administered to students in seventh, ninth and 11th grades across Lake Travis Independent School District showed they feel more stressed and contemplate suicide and self-harm more than other students nationally. Lake Travis ISD administered the Centers for Disease Controls Youth Risk Behaviors Survey to more than 1,400 students last year. Results were recently presented to the school board, pointing out that 773 of the students surveyed said they feel the stress of school is too much. School administrators also say 171 students said they considered committing suicide in the past year, and 80 of those 171 students had actually attempted suicide.

Hey, Daddy, my BMW just isn't doing it for me anymore so I'm going to cut myself if you don't buy me a new Porsche.
What’s the rate among married men?
This is in the Austin Texas metropolitan area,
..773 of the students surveyed said they feel the stress of school is too much. ...
Whaaaaa. Especially coming from this particular area/district.
Good grief. What a bunch of snowflakes.
Ooops...I thought it was California.
These kids are pranking the surveyor. They have more to live for than most kids in Texas.
Think “Dazed and Confused”, it’s the same area as portrayed in the movie.
Oh yes I remember those surveys started when I was in high school, then they were asking about sex, drugs, alcohol. As soon as we were told no one would know who filled out the survey we decided to have fun.
Interesting, I had always assumed that they were located in California. Of course I never saw the move. 8>)
What scares me is what percentage of the rest of kids in the US are snowflakes like these.
I wonder what % of these snowflakes ‘pressure’ and ‘stress’ would go away if their social media activities stopped, or severely curtailed.
I’d consider suicide too if I lived in the area of the arsehole of Texas. They need to be fenced off from the rest of us then on to San Antonio to do the same thing.......just damn!
Actually, you are almost right. The number of people migrating from California to Lakeway and Bee Cave is so high the school district has been largely Californiated.
This is the Austin area, right?
Austin is the uber lib HQ of Texas. CA fruits and nuts have invaded it. IOW, you weren’t far off as it’s one and the same.
yes
