Because most people don’t realize it’’s far cheaper and better for the environment to ship things on trains. Once in the local area it does however need to be distributed.
Trains should haul, trucks should deliver.

Being distributed is normally done by truck. Point to point delivery in the long haul is faster, cheaper and easier...
In this world of just now inventory the choo choo is just too slow...
