This is a CNN gambit to draw the curtain back a bit on the “independent prosecutor” function. I think CNN is assuming that Ken Starr had a lot of supporting evidence on the Clinton’s that will finally make the case that Bubba should have been removed from office. CNN’s gamble is that the public will draw the same over-generalized conclusion about the current Trump investigation — that Mueller has more cards than he is showing.

I think that this will backfire, and that it will be the final nail in the public lives of Bill & Hillary. The next we’ll see of them will be their funerals (although Hillary’s will be private).

Starr did reveal supporting evidence and Clinton should have resigned and saved us all the pain of his presidency.

However, it appears that this could be an intimidation tactic to force the Clintons to permanently retire and steer clear of the 2020 election.
