It wasn't very believable. I'm betting the shooter was a loner. He wouldn't be carpooling across the state with a bunch of other kooks.

And the leader saying the guy was there but he didn't personally know him was also fishy.

How big a group is it? How likely is it that somebody would go to training sessions without meeting the leader?

And lovelorn, broken heart? How likely is it that was this guy's story? How likely would he be to share it with a group?

At least one newswire report has the nutjob group's leader saying he did not personally know the perp, and another report saying he did personally know the perp. Typical reporting M.O. for the first day or two after any new tragedy.

My guess is the nutjob leader has much in common with the gun grabbers and the PETA spokeswoman and the rest of their ilk, who will "Never let a good tragedy go to waste, when you can pimp off of it to gain publicity for your cause".

BTW, the PETA announcement: "It is no surprise to PETA that ... Nikolas Cruz is said to have talked about shooting small animals, including .... So there you have it folks! The "simple" solution to school shootings is to crack down on animal abuse. Or ... wait, I thought they just said the Simple Solution is to ban guns? Or, hold on a minute ... breaking just today: a Dem congressman says the Simple Solution to school shootings is to vote all GOP Congressmen out of office this Fall. Or .... dang, I'm so confused!

Yes, I doubt very much the press contacted him since there was apparently no clues for them to trace back to this group... which means he contacted the press. So, what possible motive could a supposed leader of a virtually unknown group have for semi-claiming a mass murderer and drawing what would theoretically be unwanted law enforcement attention to his group?
