One of the GOP state legislators is quoted in the article as pointing out that this would be unconstitutional, against federal law and, pandering to those here illegally. Even Governor Hickenlooper chimed in, saying that such a purple card program, has a lot of problems.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~States dont determine who has legal status to be in the country...

"The bills sponsor says that the state would, protect employers who hire those with purple cards from federal penalties."
Translated: "Let's see how many of you actually fall for this and participate. And when the inevitable legal jeopardy comes, be assured I will be no where to be found".

I’m all for it.
It would provide a to-do list for ICE.

Arizona moves to do its own border protection and libs scream “immigration is EXCLUSIVELY federal!”
Now this.
Libs don’t have values — they have agendas.

When the southern states tried to run their own show almost 160 years ago the federal government came down on them like a ton of bricks.
The south ended up with over 250,000 dead from combat and other war related causes.
Before this gets out of hand it might be prudent to ratchet down on places like California and Colorado who have lost their way.
If we only had some legal way to do it before the shooting starts.
What we need is a high level legal authority to end this nonsense in the court instead of on the battlefield.
We could call him “Attorney General”.

“Their bill would allow anyone who has paid state taxes for at least two years and hasnt had a felony in three years to be eligible for legal status.”
Apparently, no one in CO has read the Supremacy Clause, or any other part of the Constitution.

And what of the employers? Never fear. The bills sponsor says that the state would, protect employers who hire those with purple cards from federal penalties. How?
Exactly??

States dont determine who has legal status to be in the country... Actually, they do.
Unless I'm mistaken, the original Constitution specified that the States were solely empowered to decide who was a citizen of the state and how; and thence a member of the Union.
When and how that changed, I have no idea.
It would require a Constitutional Amendment.
