Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.), who is vying for the Republican nomination to replace retiring Sen. Bob Corker (Tenn.) in the Senate, received a big endorsement Tuesday from the Susan B. Anthony (SBA) List.
Susan B. Anthony List, which was founded in the 1990s, is an organization composed of 333,000 advocates who help elect pro-life men and women to Congress. The organization's goal is to reduce the number of abortions performed nationwide and ensure that pro-life voices are included in public discourse.
SBA specifically listed Blackburn's pro-life record and her willingness to defund Planned Parenthood after the Center for Medical Progress released secretly-recorded online videos of the organization's employees discussing the sale of baby organs.
"Marsha Blackburn is a tireless pro-life champion who never hesitates to go on offense on behalf of unborn children and their mothers," Marilyn Musgrave, the organization's vice president of government affairs, said in a released statement. "From fighting to hold Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses accountable for their role in the gruesome baby body parts trade, to protecting babies born alive in failed abortions and left to die, to keeping taxpayer dollars out of abortion industry coffers, she has lead the charge in so many important pro-life battles."
"I am unapologetically 100 percent pro-life, and Im grateful for the Susan B. Anthony Lists support. As I always have, I will continue to stand up for unborn children and their mothers," Blackburn said in accepting the endorsement.
Blackburn announced her candidacy in October after two-term Republican incumbent Sen. Bob Corker (Tenn.) chose to retire rather than forgo another re-election bid. Corker, who was on President Trump's short-list for Secretary of State, has become a vocal critic of the president often questioning the administration's motives and competence from his perch ontop the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
In her announcement video, Blackburn cited her opposition to Planned Parenthood and took a swipe at who many assumed to be the retiring Corker for his refusal to work with President Trump.
"Too many Senate Republicans act like Democratsor worse," Blackburn said in her announcement.
Than you for your thoughtful analysis.
Well, that explains Lindsey Graham................
I think that fool Corker might change his mind.
Sweden ?
I think l see your point. The 2 (3 If you count Graham) women GOP Senators are the worst. It is rare for a woman to be reliably conservative especially when it comes to immigration.
Marsha Blackburn is NOT going to turn into a SWAMP dweller!
Marsha Blackburn is a tried and true conservative. Hopefully she is nominated
I hope Corker gets his ass back in.
I want to be able to celebrate when Blackburn kicks his teeth in.
I doubt you’re from TN. Marsha made her bones about 15 years ago when she was one of the major leaders in the successful fight to keep out RINO governor from imposing a state income tax. At the time she was a state senator. Her role in the income tax fight was her springboard for running for Congress. Although not fitting the physical requirements, she’s always been one of the really “good guys.”

It’s a swamp. See my post #12
Not Marsha Blackburn. She is a proven commodity — a conservative warrior in the house.
Ditto...Marsha is solid....
Four of Rubio’s Amnesty Gang are up this year.
Three elected to quit.
Heller needs to be Cantorized in the primary.
Utah is a lost cause, looks like they will elect Bishop Romney, which is losing ground, keeping Hatch would have been better.
AZ is being set up to elect McSally as the new Amnesty Senator.
The Bush League Republicans are using Joe Arpaio’s ego to crowd out Kelli Ward, who is why Flake is quitting.
TN looks like we might get a Senator who sides with the citizens and the rule of law.
We currently only have four on our side.
Like Michele Bachmann?
Seriously, she's the only exception I could think of.
BEING pro-life is fine for a candidate.
RUNNING on pro-life is a guarantee of defeat.
