So, in other words, this is a “happy” story!

Those damn intransigent citizens who won’t provide housing and care for the entire nation of Mexico and most of Central America are just greedy and inconsiderate!

One the one hand, there are all the stories of the flight from California to "red" states. On the other hand, there is this story of a housing crisis.

So, which is it?

I suspect that the outflow is based on taxpayer information, and the influx that creates the housing shortage is uncontrolled illegal aliens, because there are NO stories about a rush of Americans TO California.

My daughter and her husband moved out. That should free up some space.

First the whiners who live in those crappy neighborhoods complain about the fact that they live in a crappy neighborhood with crappy neighbors such as themselves. When the neighborhood improves and becomes livable again, the same people complain about gentrification.

BTW, a lot of those crappy California people are moving to Las Vegas where the crime rate is going through the roof.

State officials see the graft flowing to local officials and scheme to divert the gravy to themselves.

We wouldn’t have a housing crisis if the Bush Republicans and Obama Democrats hadn’t flooded California with half of the 3rd world

This must be the first time in The Guardian’s history that it has opposed moving authority to a higher level of government.

It is that same Californication legislature that’s very much to blame for creating the housing shortage there in the first place Just ask any builder or developer

California doesn’t have a housing shortage. They have a surplus of illegal foreign invaders.

The obvious solution is to further encourage illegal immigration into the state.

I continually have head hunters calling me about jobs in cali. I keep explaining to them that 1) Even with a significant bump in pay between housing and taxes I loose money and 2) I do not want to live in a state where my freedoms are suppressed.

I often hear a ‘sigh’ and then get a ‘yeah, I’m hearing a lot of that’.

To be fair it’s true of the NE and Illinois as well.

The message in the proposal is: Look guys, we’ve declared our state a “sanctuary state” just so it can be flooded immensely from south of the border, so, legal are not all you taxpaying citizens must get the hell out of the way so we, the state politicians, can tax you more to build “affordable housing” for them.

Amid a desperate housing crisis, legislators in the Golden State have prompted an outcry

This article is chock full of purple prose. I also like calling eight-story buildings “towers.”

Whatever happened to Mark Morford? He was a master of manipulation.

I see he’s still around and as hair-on-fireish as ever.

A recent example:

DACA, despite legal hurdles, has been one of the most elegant, successful solutions to the immigration problem, one resonating with trademark Obama-era compassion and thoughtfulness.

Not anymore. The Orange Goblin, using his favorite immigrant-hating elf-racist Attorney General Jeff Sessions as leering stooge, has finally decided to kill it — something he actually promised to do on the campaign trail, right until he realized it might look very bad indeed to harm so many young people so directly, and so viciously, without really having a clue what he was doing — which he never does.
