Our back porch is raised and is comfy enough to sit on the edge. I’ve always sat there and had the food dish a few feet away to begin with, then had it closer and closer as time goes on. The dish would eventually be next to my legs.
The cat I was working on would eat and get comfy with my presence. Once it would eat out of the dish with it right next to me, I’d start reaching down to scratch his back.
Time-consuming but it worked like a charm.

I’ll head to the store shortly for Hubby’s candy. We need a few other things any way so he won’t know I’m getting it.

We should be able to crack a couple open tomorrow and open more Thursday.

Daffodils are up at last and a few have bud stems about ready to pop. Spring is on the horizon!

I’ve got poppies coming up in my lawn, in the rocks, and in the rose bushes.

It’s not raining tonight - - not yet any way. Tomorrow will be wet and that’s why I want to get all the shopping done today.

Glad you found it. I was watching and was ready to get scaps as soon as I saw her get ready to stand up. She’d been squirming a lot so I figured there was a lot of activity beneath her. There was! :-)

We don’t have a porch. We have a patio and right now it’s way too chilly when he shows up to be sitting out there waiting. LOL! This spring on pretty days...when it’s not dusty or too cold, I might try some of that. I think he realizes that I want him here, though. He comes right up to the back door when he knows I’m on my way out with the food.
