Tom Wolfe is great - ‘The Right Stuff’ is one of my all-time favorites. But I haven’t read ‘The Painted Word’, so thanks for the reminder; it’s been on my wish-list for a while and it’s time I bought and read it.
From what I saw on Twitter, yes, most of America was going WTF.
