California Attorney General Xavier Becerra is threatening to sue if the Trump administration includes a question regarding citizenship on the 2020 census. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Becerra worries citizenship questions will dissuade some California residents from taking the census, thereby under-representing themselves and running the risk of a loss of federal funding for certain parts of the state.
Becerra is part of a coalition of 19 attorneys general who fighting against inclusion of a citizenship. They sent a letter to U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross on Monday, in which Becerra described counting everyone, citizen or not, as a sacred responsibility. He wrote:
What the Trump Administration is requesting is not just alarming, it is illegal. The Constitution requires that, every 10 years, we accurately count every person in our country, regardless of citizenship status. This is a sacred responsibility. It determines how many Congressional seats each state receives and how billions of dollars in federal funds are distributed. At the local level, it should also produce an accurate population count that our communities can rely on to identify the need for critical services such as disaster relief, infrastructure, public health, and police and fire protection.

Representation in Congress is not based on the size of the illegal alien invasion force occupying our land.
Representatives in a representative government represent citizens and citizens only, and if anyone thinks otherwise... they are a dangerous fool. If they act upon those thoughts... they are dangerous traitors who need to be dealt with accordingly.
They are not supposed to be represented anyway, in my opinion.
I though illegals didn't cost us any money? /sarc
I already received and answered a census form which included citizenship questions.
I thought they had Holder on retainer to sue the feds every time trump burps.
I would add these questions.
1. Are you in the US illegally?
1 B. If yes, then please report to the first floor office at 350 Main street May 15th at 2 PM and bring a toothbrush. Transportation services available at the 800 number below.
No standing Becerra.

So will the fairies of Californicator land want to remove the classic sex ? in censuses for over 200 years?
male or female.
I do a lot of family tree research, which necessarily involves looking at old census records (online, through Ancestry, though I’ve seen the microfilms also). EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM from 1900 - 1940 asked about the citizenship of each person counted, and also about where they were born. If not born in the US, they had to answer how long they had been in the U.S.
To not do this now is rather stupid, and the claims of it being illegal are specious, unless you simply wish to aid and abet an invasion of this country by non-citizens, in an attempt to overwhelm the native-born electorate.
Representation in Congress is not based on the size of the illegal alien invasion force occupying our land.
“”The Constitution requires that, every 10 years, we accurately count every person in our country, regardless of citizenship status.””
Is that what it says? I guess! Just like the right of women to kill unborn babies is in the Constitution!
We’re going to count them, we just want to know how many are citizens.
They are still being counted, but we should know how many are citizens.
I think its a slam-dunk case that the US Government needs to know how many citizens it has.
No standing. Becerra should be in prison for aiding and abetting illegals.
Half of California will disappear
A SACRED responsibility??? I thought they believed nothing was sacred.
