I remember a time when you went to the County for a Food Voucher and got surplus commodites like Cheese, Peanut Butter, 20qt of dry milk, and some canned fruit & Veggies. The Steel Mill dad worked at was on Strike. We were a family of 4 kids 2 adults, mom didn’t work, best she could have gotten was waitress work, couldn’t even drive. Dad was ‘required’ picket line walking. Didn’t matter if he agreed with the strike or not the Union Bosses decided that.

The newest 2% SS COLA raise is $1.00 to your bank account per month, and $133 to INCREASED Medicare Premiums. I’ve lost tract of what we currently pay in Medicare Premiums since it went to auto deposit and we got no statements when we did get a 1% COLA raise under DUMBO. That amounts to $12.00 yearly in your pocket, $1,596 yearly in Medicare Increased Premiums. As we are Retired Military (Navy) our Co-pays have increased as well for Tricare Life which is Medicare’s secondary for us.

Even weiner gets more than double in a Pension for 1 yr than a 20 yr career Ret. SCPO does.

I’d love to see Pelosi’s ‘CRUMBS’ personally, that would buy several months of groceries for 2 people.

They can use the existing postal system delivery system for once a month deliveries - anyone messing with it gets tapped for mail fraud.

I seem to remember reading somewhere...these words:

Promote the general welfare and provide for the common defense.

Not provide for the general welfare and promote the common defense.

Do not feed the animals! It makes them dependent and prevents them from being able to survive in the wild.

“Specifically, the Trump budget proposal would gut the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), better known as food stamps, by $17.2 billion in 2019 — equivalent to 22 percent of the program’s total cost last year — and implement a boxed food delivery program, a system that White House budget director Mick Mulvaney compared to Blue Apron.”

It sounds not like it would “gut” 22% of SNAP, but would reduce the EBT card benefit portion of SNAP by an amount that would be used to fund monthly direct food supplies to households in the SNAP program; attempting to insure at least some of the SNAP money goes to what it should.

“The changes call on lawmakers to eliminate the expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act”

Why was that expansion done?

It was done, with federal funding support in the early years, to get non-Liberal states to make their Medicaid programs as expensive as the most Liberal states. Of course the states whose costs had been much less in prior years will be picking up more of the additional cost themselves in the out years. And guess what will happen then? The will do what Obama hoped they would do - join with the Liberal states in demanding more funding of Medicaid, hoping in the very long run to make it completely a federal program, like Medicare.

The fact that EBT cards can be spent at liquor stores and casinos tells you everything you need to know.

A friend of mine lives up there. He said they built some Affordable Housing Units downtown.

They are Single Apartments (not even One Bedrooms) and most have two Families living in them.

I assume most of those Workers at In and Out use BART to go to work from Oakland. San Francisco is a crazy City, both Beautiful and Ugly at the same time.

Meaney Trump, giving people actual food to eat instead of welfare credit cards that they can sell or use for booze, cigarettes and other unhealthy items.

“Affordable housing” can be misleading; it still might not be very cheap. Nobody would allow it if it really put welfarians next to millionaires.
