This was a tragedy, in a historic sense. It was the first plane from an ambitious young company called. Cirrus Design. Today, Cirrus is the largest small plane builder in America, This particular plane was an experimental home built version. Only one now remains flying, with a couple of others in museums.

That is one of the reasons I don’t take my family flying in a small plane. Been a pilot for 32 years and about 16,000 hours. Then again I don’t fly in bad weather either.
