What you’re also not getting is that Syria, like all but two Arab countries (Egypt and Jordan), exists in a state of war with Israel. As a result of the Camp David Accords, Egypt and Jordan signed peace treaties with Israel. Syria and the rest of the Arab countries that invaded in 1948 are still technically at war with Israel. They don’t recognize Israel to this day and reserve the right to erase it from the map at any opportune moment, alone or in coalition.
Oh, so they are free to attack Israel under international law. That is your argument. Well ok. I thought international law protected Israel as a sovereign country but I withdraw that. Let them get it on!! but not with my kids and not with my money!! Give peace a chance!!
