RIO GRANDE VALLEY--The government is telling contractors to get ready to bid for a border wall construction project starting May of this year in the Valley. A notice went out on Fedbizopps.gov Friday telling contractors the window will open to apply for a 3-mile levee wall construction project. The notice says contract is anticipated to be awarded around May 6th and last for 300 days. The notice says the plan is contingent on fiscal year 2018 funding. The estimated value of the contract is between 25 and 100 million dollars.
There's always a hitch.
Yawn!
That wall can be deficit spending.
It’s probably easier to get funding for a levee than for “The Wall”; no telling just how tall that levee would be!
Recall Trumps run in with the local authoroities in Florida about his huge flagpole.
Something like 50 ft tall...but only a 30ft flagpole is allowed
So Trump builds a 20ft mound and places a 30ft plagpole on top.
Dear Whitehouse. Since Congress has already voted to approve the wall but never funded it, stop pissing around and instead activeley, directly, and aggressively seek public donations. The money will pour in and we can stop the bull$hit.
I believe the funds are available in the two year budget.
That's great. I hadn't heard that. Let's get it going then!
Rocrds show Where Trump to build Texas Border wall
According to the documents, the wall would bisect the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, a 797-acre preserve thats one of the top birding destinations in North America. Walls would also run through the neighboring National Butterfly Center, a private nature sanctuary that recently announced it would sue the government to stop construction, as well as the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge. The Army Corps of Engineers rates the Santa Ana refuge as an easy location, because the land is already owned by the federal government.
In early July, the Observer revealed the governments plan to build a 2.9-mile levee wall through Santa Ana, one of the nations oldest protected wildlife habitats. Located about 10 miles southeast of McAllen, the refuge is home to at least 400 bird species and 450 species of plants, and it hosts both the rare Texas Sabal Palm and the endangered ocelot.
The documents label the wall planned for Santa Ana as a pilot project. The levee wall there will consist of a concrete base, which will replace the existing earthen levee, topped by an 18-foot steel bollard fence. The Santa Ana segment is projected to cost $45 million approximately $15 million per mile and is slated to be completed by July 2019, according to Army Corps of Engineers records.

IF Trump put our a ‘Go Fund The Wall’ website, it would be funded very quickly, IMO.
IF he made it a tax deductible item on your income taxes, maybe even quicker.
I agree 100%. It was mentioned on a tread about 2 months ago that someone had attempted a GoFundMe account, but for some legal reason, they were not able to do it & the money was returned..
If the gov't could guarantee me my money would be used for the wall and ONLY the wall, I would send them some extra. That I can tell you.
Unless I don’t understand, I would think that birds & bees & butterflies can FLY over the wall—no matter how tall.
$7,333,000.00 to $33,000,000.00 a Mile?
We have the house, the Senate and the white house over a year and it’s still contingent? Impotence or incompetence. Great Kabul. No wall, no way 2018 regardless of your party.
I’m still waiting for Mexico to pay for it. Or did I hear that part wrong?
If every dreamer wanting citizenship paid a $10,000 fine, we could fund the wall.
