“The Sunday Morning Bray”, by Bray!

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1 Corinthians 13:4-5

The naïve assumption President Trump was a Ronald Reagan is now over. His signing of Porkulous2.0 is proof he does not have the budget fight in him. The continued fear of shutting down the gummit has the Party petrified even though there is not a shred of evidence it damages their chances of losing seats and there is a strong argument it gains. The one thing which defines a President is his budget fight which was a clear loss to the Dems as they got everything they wanted and more in a bloated bill Barak minus the military spending would have signed.

President Trump has done so many things since he has been elected to promote the Conservative cause from the pipelines, deregulation, cutting taxes as well as improving the work environment, but you cannot cut taxes and not decrease spending if you want capitalism to work. The first year there will be a shortage of tax dollars until the added economic growth brings in more tax payers which is why you cut. In addition to balancing the budget cutting spending shrinks the size and scope of gummit which creates more freedom for Americans who do not live in the District of Corruption.

It did not help the stock market was tanking during the negotiations and there was the mini scandal of Rob Porter which could not focus on the budget, but it seemed President Trump was not involved. It seemed as if he did not want this fight and whatever it took to get the increase in defense spending was all that mattered. As important as defense spending is you need to clean-up the waste before you increase spending and that goes for the Pentagon as well.

The worst part of the budget was the increase in welfare and gigantic pork projects filling the swamp with more fat to feed the snakes. This gives them more money to pay to their cronies who grow fatter and more dangerous. The only way to drain the swamp is to cut off the money they all feed on. There are 650 creatures in the Capital building who most are doing the bidding for the lobbyists who pay them to vote one way or they will have a hard time raising funds for reelection.

President Trump is not a Conservative ideologue although he would like to be one. You have to be pretty deep in the weeds to understand the importance of cutting the funding of DC. He has not been a Conservative very long so the foundation has not been laid on his beliefs the way it is on the more deeply ground Conservative. In addition he has done more in his first year on the moral and structural issues than any President perhaps ever, so this one is understandable. Not so for Marble Mouth McConnell who once again went to his first reflex which is fold like a cheap suit and give Schmuckie the win. He and McCain not resigning are unforgivable in the biggest battle of the year.

When you have both branches of Congress and the WH you would expect to come away with a better budget than they got. Yes, the last thing Dems wanted to increase was the military, but why at such a high price? The other issue was the stimulus billions seem like the old throwing money at the problem hoping for a solution. What are the safeguards the money is not sent down the same rat hole the money went down during the Barak regime?

The fact there needs to be sixty votes in a budget begs for bloated budgets since the minority Party has all the leverage they need to force the majority to buy their votes. This is why there are deficits as far as the eye can see. Next year when there is the largest deficit in histoir Trump and the Repubs will get all the blame and why they should have at least put up at least the smallest fight rather than just rubber stamp whatever Schumer and Pelosi brought them. This also eliminates the argument for more Repubs since they are just as interested in spending money as the Dems are.

As much as most would have loved to see a Congressional battle or a Trump veto that was never going to happen.
The behind the scenes negotiations must have agreed to the futility of this battle and why everyone surrendered. With a growing economy and mostly positive trends they must have decided to wait for a better time to fight this war. Hopefully the next budget will be the time to at least shoot a BB gun. This budget was a yuge disappointment.

Pray America woke

Much of what you say is true but it ignores what’s going on in the backgrounds we have thousands of warrants that are that are out now many more so several thousand in California alone these all have to be processed and people will be indicted and it’s that there’s so much going on in the background it’s impossible to do everything right all the time and it remains to be seen about the deficits due to the tax cuts which will increase Revenue so I think it all remains to be seen

Bray is correct

The naïve assumption President Trump was a Ronald Reagan is now over. His signing of Porkulous2.0 is proof he does not have the budget fight in him. The continued fear of shutting down the gummit has the Party petrified even though there is not a shred of evidence it damages their chances of losing seats and there is a strong argument it gains. It is ALWAYS about - follow the Money $$

I called in to one of our local radio shows Thursday. The Host is a financial guy - the stock market update I posted here a few weeks back is from his WEB site. I was on hold for a while as he has regular guests, one of whom is a conservative local Houston Councilman. I commented on the upcoming Texas Primary (early March) and that I was very happy to see a Primary opponent to my local "republican" congressman. At that point I was unable to add any additional comments.

The Amusing portion followed my comment. The Financial guy , in a nice way addresses Johnny " Porkulous" Culberson's voting record vs. his B.S. when on the radio with the financial guy.

The local republican councilman defended Johnny " Porkulous" Culberson as a nice guy.

The moral of the story - "Republican Elected officials" are a private club. We pay for their club privileges, but we do NOT get to go inside and have a say.

With the Primaries upon us I would urge everyone to vote out the INCUMBENT

This weekends' lineup looks VERY entertaining
