In your industry they would be gone (guilty before proven innocent)?

I am so sick and tired of the b@astardization of our Constitution.

INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty.

Well, I view the business end in this way:

I don’t believe 1st Amendment rights are absolute. Certainly, anyone who has ever served in the military knows this to be true. Wait! Before you bite my head off, let me explain that.

I do believe you can stand on a corner and say “Jet Blue Sucks!”, but you can’t stand outside the Jet Blue Terminal as an employee, wearing Jet Blue mechanics overalls while saying “Jet Blue Sucks!”

I believe Jet Blue would have every right to fire that employee, and I would support them in that, especially if I worked at Jet Blue too.

In this case, if a woman says a guy did something to her, I believe it is the company’s right to have an internal investigation (which is what happens when someone goes to Human Resources in today’s day and age, no question) and then decide whether to keep the employee or not.

Does it mean I believe someone making a complaint is truthful every time? No, but if someone has something like that, I do believe it should be checked out.

Bottom line, I don’t view that entire process as a violation of my Constitutional rights. I believe that is the prerogative of the employer. Just my opinion.

And it certainly doesn’t mean you don’t have recourse if you are unjustly let go. You can usually obtain a trial, and people do win.
