Tyranny! That’s exactly what it is.

He should be at the top of the list for appointment to a Federal court.

Based on this one decision? Really? Who knows how he's ruled on other issues, or would rule on them?

It's nice he came down the way he did in this one. Let's not canonize him yet.

RE: This is a state of California court. The President had nothing to do with this appointment.

OK, change the word PRESIDENT to GOVERNOR, and the sentiment is the same.

Edit to add. If the gay couple takes it to the 9th circuit, the we change the word GOVERNOR back to PRESIDENT.

If someone does not want to provide their services because they just don't feel like it, is that not their right?

If their reason is based simply on bigotry and prejudice then no.

Free citizens ought to be able to decline services without being grilled about their reason.

Free citizens also have a right to be served by someone who is engaging in commerce with the public.

“Wait till the California Supreme Court gets ahold of this.”

They only good news here is these two fags will be cold in their graves before they receive a dime. Because the forces on the opposite side will make sure this becomes a Federal CR issue and force it all the way to the SCOTUS. Most likely after Trump is out of office, and the case is heard by an at least 7-2 Court. I hope I live to see that Fat Yenta Elena Kagan sitting on the Left by herself.

I'm not so sure. I'm getting kind of tired of all the "I won't buy anything from them because..." and the "I won't sell anything to them because..." stuff that's going on these days.

I know there are a lot of folks on here that think it's not discriminatory, but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, well...you know how that goes.

Take this sentence for instance:

I will not serve you because you are [blank].

Start inserting words: black, white, handicapped, gay, lesbian, asian, conservative, liberal, Christian, muslim, jewish, athiest, a Patriots fan, an Eagles fan.

Now, for those of you that have read this far, Let's talk about Jesus Christ. Jesus loves everyone. Jesus hung out with the thieves, hookers, dissidents, tax collectors, and worse. Jesus was perfect, and Jesus did not discriminate.

There are Old Testament teachings that prohibit interracial marriage, and in those days, interracial was a lot less easy to define than black and white. Additionally, theft and adultery were illegal according to the Old Testament, yet Jesus sought out these people.

If we really want to go there, then we can also talk about what Jesus said about Judgement, but I think I've said enough.

Now, that said, if the lesbian couple was expecting the actual baker to come to the wedding and denounce her faith, then that's a different story.

>> stating it would only be discrimination if Miller refused to sell an existing product to the lesbians

This is a brilliant point. I hope this becomes the foundation of future judicial rulings on similar lawsuits.

Hope so. Somebody will have to pick up the tab or some cool pro bono lawyers will have to take the case. The rainbow mafia is well funded.

Also, the wise Latina is relatively young. She might be around for a while too.

I stand corrected. This judge was never appointed.

It says here:

https://ballotpedia.org/David_R._Lampe

California held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. There was a primary on June 7, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was March 31, 2016. A total of 351 seats were up for election. Incumbent David R. Lampe ran unopposed in the election for Office 19 of the Kern County Superior Court.

"Actually they should rule the entire civil rights legislation from the 1960s is unconstitutional."

We are paying for the sins of (some of) our fathers. If there hadn't been systemic discrimination against blacks, this whole Pandora's Box of "civil rights" legislation might have remained closed.

Judge David R. Lampe

“David R. Lampe is a judge for the Superior Court of Kern County in California. He was appointed by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) in June 2007 to fill a newly created position. His term ends in 2023.”

I guess Ahnold did a few good things in between “mattress sessions” with his Mexican maid.

I’ve been saying for a while that if the queers want a cake, some pictures, or anything else for their conterfeit marriages, then they should open a bakery, an photo shop, and other businesses that will accommodate them and leave the rest of us ALONE.

“Also, the wise Latina is relatively young. She might be around for a while too.”

Actually, she’s not in good health. She has had type 1 diabetes since she was a child. She has had episodes that have caused her to be taken from the Court to the hospital. I have a niece who has had type 1 since she was a child as well, and even though she’s very careful about maintaining her blood sugar (she has an IV pump and her husband is a doctor) at 50, she’s seeing some of the averse affects of this disease including failing eyesight. To be sure, the Wise Latrina won’t still be on the court when she’s in her seventies, and she’s 63.
