A US presidential election is a year and a half of meddling from factions all over the world. That's how it's been for a very long time.
But there is no evidence that Trump had any interest in getting help from the Russians or any other foreign government.
Just look at what he was doing on his campaign- he held rally after rally with hard working Americans, and gave hundreds of speeches telling people that he was going to put America First. He won because he connected with the voters. It had nothing to do with Russians or any other foreign government.
