(LEAD) N.K. to send leader Kim Jong-un's sister to S. Korea this week
2018/02/07
SEOUL, Feb. 7 (Yonhap) -- North Korea has offered to send the younger sister of leader Kim Jong-un as a member of its high-level delegation for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, Seoul officials said Wednesday.
The North informed the South that Kim Yo-jong, the first vice director of the ruling party's propaganda and agitation department, will be included in the high-level delegation led by ceremonial head of state Kim Yong-nam, according to South Korea's unification ministry.
It would mark the first time that a member of the Kim family, from the Mount Paektu bloodline, comes to the South.
The two other officials are Choe Hwi, the chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee, and Ri Son-gwon, the head of the North's state agency in charge of inter-Korean affairs.
The North earlier proposed sending a 22-member delegation including three ranking officials and 18 support staffers to South Korea for a three-day trip starting Friday.
"The government views the composition of the delegation -- party, government and sports officials -- as meaningful, given that their trip is aimed at celebrating the opening ceremony of the Winter Games," the ministry said.
It said that Kim was apparently included because foreign leaders' families are customarily sent to deliver congratulations on the games.
The two Koreas have engaged in a flurry of sports diplomacy since North Korean leader Kim Jong-un extended a rare olive branch to Seoul in his New Year's message, after years of tensions sparked by the North's nuclear and missile provocations.

VP Pence will come to SK along with Warmbier's parents. NK will send the ceremonial head of state, Kim Yong-nam. I guess they felt that it would not be enough to match Pence's presence. So NK upped the ante.

This political event could upstage Olympic games. NBC can have decent TV rating , even if the game itself turns into a flop.

“Kim Yo-jong, the first vice director of the ruling party’s propaganda and agitation department”
How come we can’t be as honest as the NORKs in naming our federal departments?

Dennis Rodman has been made an honorary member of the family: Kim Yo-mama.

Or carrying a binary nerve agent. Jokes aside, if they want to do something like that, others in NK athlete/cheerleader contingent will be the ones doing it.

By the way, Kim Yo-jong is under U.S. sanction.
U.S. blacklists North Korean officials over rights abuses ..........
Among seven individuals on the Treasury Department blacklist is Kim Yo Jong, 27, who it said is the younger sister of leader Kim Jong Un, as well as the vice director of the Workers Party of Korea Propaganda and Agitation Department.

North Korea believes they’re still at war with the South. This is actually a very positive sign. i would even suggest a unification of some kind will be in the works before 2020. +++

Uranium one deal was partly going to North Korea which is why Clinton likely went to North Korea in 2009 Now that Trump is in office their sources of money has dried up. They will be compelled for a working relationship with the South.
At the very least the war will be officially over by 2020 that is if Trump wins the next election. If the black hats win all bets are off.

With fully operational nukes and ICBM's, NK will have more leverage. They may be little short on money now. But that can change if they are successful. By that time, any talk of unification means that it will be in NK's terms.
War can be over after NK having effective control of SK, if it is what you mean. I don't see Kim Jong-un surrendering nukes.
