If you had read past the title you would have seen that the author suggests that rather than God intervening directly, maybe the deep faith of many of the Eagles (including their best players and leaders) contributed to their character to overcome adversity and persevere through a tough season filled with critical injuries that might have sidelined other teams but somehow didn't this one.
