Indiana Police: Twice-Deported Illegal Alien Kills Colts Linebacker While Drunk-Driving

According to Indiana State Police, Manuel Orrego-Savala, the man suspected of killing Colts player Edwin Jackson and his Uber driver Jeffrey Monroe, is a twice-deported illegal immigrant from Guatemala. Police say that Orrego-Savala was driving drunk when he caused the fatal accident on Sunday morning.

Earlier today, local news station CBS 4 provided details of the circumstances of the deadly incident:

Police believe Monroe was working as an Uber driver and Jackson was his passenger. At some point Jackson became sick, so Monroe pulled over on the side of I-70 just west of Holt Road shortly before 4 a.m. They were standing outside of the car when Orrego-Savala drove a black Ford F-150 onto the emergency shoulder and struck the rear of the car, as well as the victims.

An Indiana state trooper soon discovered the scene of the crime, but unfortunately failed to stop his car before hitting one of the victims, who was lying in the center lane of the highway. The same trooper managed to catch Orrego-Savala on an exit ramp as he fled from the site of the accident on foot.

On Monday, Rep. Todd Rokita (R), who represents Indiana’s fourth district, sent out a press release about the suspected killer that strongly condemned lax policies towards illegal immigrants, demanding that action be taken to “get these dangerous illegal immigrant criminals off of our streets, and guarantee this never happens again by building a wall, ending sanctuary cities, and stopping illegal immigration once and for all." The statement also promoted legislation introduced by Rokita last December that would impose heavy fines and prison terms of up to five years on both local and state government officials who resist enforcing federal immigration laws. Known as the "SLAP" act (Stopping Lawless Actions of Politicians), Rokita's bill is chiefly targeted at so-called "sanctuary cities," which play a key role in sheltering illegal aliens from deportation in the United States.

Rep. Rokita is right to be concerned about crimes committed by illegal aliens, but legislators should also not forget how much non-violent illegal immigrants are costing American taxpayers every year simply by remaining in the country. The Federation for American Immigration Reform, a conservative immigration policy group, has estimated that illegal aliens consume more than $110 billion in net federal, state, and local government expenses every year. This number includes educational, medical, law enforcement, welfare, and other costs (state education expenditures alone make up roughly $44 billion of the total amount).

And yet, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) are set to introduce an immigration reform bill today that does nothing to address the longstanding concerns of Americans who want an actual border between the United States and Mexico. According to CNN [emphasis mine]:

Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain and Delaware Democratic Sen. Chris Coons are slated to introduce a bill Monday that would grant eventual citizenship to young undocumented immigrants who have been in the country since 2013 and came to the US as children, but it does not address all of the President's stated immigration priorities, like ending family-based immigration categories -- which Republicans call "chain migration" — or ending the diversity visa program.

It also would not immediately authorize the $30 billion that Trump is seeking to build the border wall, instead greenlighting a study of border security needs. The bill would also seek to address the number of undocumented immigrants staying in the US by increasing the number of resources for the immigration courts, where cases can take years to finish.

So Democrats get amnesty, courts and lawyers get more money, and...Republicans get nothing.

Wow, what a deal.

Instead of commissioning pointless studies about whether border walls/fences work, perhaps lawmakers should look at the example of countries like Hungary, which built a security fence on its southern border in 2015 to stop tens of thousands of migrants from illegally pouring into the country [emphasis mine]:

Thousands of migrants streamed across the border every day as they made their way north to Austria, Germany and Scandinavia.

“It was an invasion,” Laszlo Toroczkai, the mayor of Asotthalom, told TheDCNF. “Illegal immigration is a crime in a normal country. It’s not a normal thing to break into a country.”

Toroczkai decided to start a war on illegal immigration. He wanted a fence, and the government agreed.

(...)

While Hungary is far from the final destination for most migrants, its location along the so-called “Balkan route” made it a natural pit stop for hundreds of thousands of people pursuing a life in western Europe.

“By the mid-year it was well beyond 100,000 people who care across us,” Kovacs said. “In the beginning of September there were days when 10,000 came.”

The Orban administration looked at a number of measures before deciding on the fence.

The results were staggering. The influx went down from 6,353 one day to 870 the next. Illegal border crossings were steadily below 40 per day throughout the rest of the month.

“It was not unknown what the most effective way to handle illegal border crossings is. Like it or not, and that’s the point we always make, there is no more effective way [to stop] illegal border crossings than building a physical barrier,” Kovacs told TheDCNF. “You might not like it, it’s not a nice thing, but … the only way to stop illegal border crossings is [to] first build a fence, man it, equip it, and also, in parallel, build up your capabilities in terms of legal confines, legal circumstances to be able to handle what is coming.”

If lawmakers truly want to solve the illegal immigration crisis, they need to fight in Congress to give law enforcement the legal tools it needs to do its primary job—protecting the American people. If more laws like the SLAP Act are needed to prevent states like California, Illinois, and Massachusetts from openly revolting against federal officials, then passing those bills should be the priority of any elected representative who puts the needs of his constituents above those who respect neither our laws nor our citizens' lives.

Maybe this senseless loss of life will motivate blacks to get on board with ending sanctuary for illegals

I am hopeful that John McCain will soon be “introduced” to his casket.

I’m not holding my breath while I wait for Black Lives Matter to get all up in arms over this one ... because I don’t want to lose consciousness.

I often see the stats about illegals costing billions but rarely see that they also don’t spend the money they do earn here they send it home. A further drain on the economy.

It’s clear to me that Edwin Jackson hated immigrants and took to opportunity to get himself killed in order to make this poor undocumented fellow, and those like him, look bad.

Or the NFLPA. I assume they're working out the details of their pre-game protest for the first game next season. They're calling this the "Hands up, don't run me down on the shoulder of I-70!" campaign:

We need new Senators.

We currently have just 4 Senators on the side of the citizens and the rule of law.
Cotton, Cruz, Grassley and Perdue.
That’s it.

Flake, Corker, Hatch, Heller, Alexander, Graham, McCain, Murkowsky, Hoeven, Rubio, Tillis, Burr, Lankford, Gardner, Cornyn, Cochran, Collins, Sasse, Kennedy, Shelby, Ernst, Blunt, McConnell, Wicker, Portman, Isakson, Johnson, Toomey, Rounds, Thune, Barasso and Enzi are all owned by the Cheap Labor Express.

So who’s primarying Deb Fischer, Roger Wicker, John Barrasso, & Dean Heller? The only ones who’ve up for re-election and has bowed out are the rotten Mormon ba$tard Jeff Flake, and old step and fetchit, Urine Hatch. It looks as though RINO Martha McSally is going to take Flake’s seat leaving us not much better off than we were. And of the other guys who’ve dropped out, Hatch, is handing his seat over to “Brother Mitt,” another a$$hole Mormon who has the added feature that he really hates Trump, and Corker the Dwarf Dork, who may possibly give us a “better than” replacement.
The problem we have is everyone thinks their GOPe Senator is “great” and that the problem is with the RINO a$$holes in another state. You look here in the Senate, where we have the last chance at a target-rich environment, what with 27 RATs and Commies up for re-election, and we have to concern ourselves with replacing “our own” because they are unfit. We should be working to pick off 8 to 10 RATs, instead we are trying to hang on to 8 seats of our own completely populated today with RINOs. President Trump deserves a way, way better class of GOP Senators than he’s likely to have come November.

Amen to that.
TN is the only place we might have improvement.
3 of the 4 Senators who voted for Rubio’s amnesty that are up this time are quitting and Heller will probably lose to the Democrat so it’s not all bad news.......
