A very candid 2015 interview with Roberto Michelleti, interim president of Honduras during the "coup" of 2009. He is justifiably bitter over the Obama administration's efforts to remove him, which he sees as Obama seeking to curry favor with the Latin American left and Hugo Chavez in particular.

Obama tried to install a Chavist dictator in Honduras. Tried really hard.

Most people have forgotten there were two gun-running operations in the western hemisphere under Obama. “Fast and Furious” running guns to the Mexican cartel, and “Castaway”, running guns to Honduras. It was another “investigation” that provided cover for a smuggling operation.

I always thought this Honduras episode with Micheletti and Zelaya, with US interference...should have been written into a script. It was a fairly epic moment and democracy ended up winning. Would make a good movie.

I have to point to the Obama administration as the worst government for the people of Latin America.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Worst government for Americans, too.
The founders tried to prevent it with the natural born citizen clause.
Our betters decided to ignore it.
