Brilliant move on the part of Wray and Trump

Wray gets internal FBI credit for aggressively defending the FBI as an institution while at the same time documenting the FBI/DOJ Obama hold over dead enders continuing desire to obstruct and cover up.

This helps build PR drama in the build up for the release

Of course, there is no way in heck that Nunes or Congress is going to redact the names of the guilty at FBI and DOJ so all this does is highlight FBI malfeasance and increase the public perception of an extensive DOJ/FBI cover up of Obama era abuses of power

Nonsense. One defends the FBI and the good people of the FBI by naming, removing and prosecuting the criminals within the FBI.

Could be institutional ping pong. Wray negotiates redactions and objection from Trump. Trump goes along with this, returning the memo with reasoned objections and certification that "threat to the national interest of the United States posed by the disclosure is of such gravity that it outweighs any public interest in the disclosure." That protects the executive, and has Trump doing a favor (obstructing justice) for Wray. The objection to disclosing names does not perfectly defeat public disclosure of the names.

The next step would be that the committee votes to send the issue to the whole House. The House must take it up, and must deal with it. All the representatives go on record.

Simultaneously, anything that was not objected to can be disclosed to the public immediately.
