Exempt them from the rule, including the tax cuts for their residents.

RFQ’s for a favorable ruling on the suit are being circulated for lowest bid among judges ad we speak. The new normal. Judge shopping at least until the USSC. A good four years of earnings bouncing from circuit judge to circuit judge like ping-pong.

So, can individual counties in New York State sue NYS to stop funding the wealthy in NYC and Westchester county?

The question, therefore, is not whether the new cap on SALT deductibility disfavors taxpayers in blue states relative to the prior provision. It clearly does that. The question is whether that differential impact resulted from an invidious congressional motive

The courts are totally out of control to be even discussing judging the motives of the legislators.

And they do it all the time.

Win elections make decisions, lose elections obey the law.

I do not want to subsidize your citizens. They own it.

These morons did it to themselves.

It’s their fault their state taxes are so high.

As for us, soon as the opportunity presents itself, we are out of this liberal hell hole of a state.

Watch a federal judge uphold him. In fact, I’ll bet he can get an appellate court to agree. And a “narrowly divided” Supreme Court will have the final say.

Most probably they will find a looney activist judge to rule initially in their favor, and then it will be overturned. The law will apply equally to all states... it is just that the biggest spender states won’t be subsidized by the rest of us any longer; a good - and equitable thing.

Ooooh! This should be popular.

How do they explain to their constituents why they don’t want them to get a tax cut?

I am ok with exempting the east and west coast from any tax cuts for the people as long as the businesses realize the tax cuts. Let them run on that nugget in their next campaigns.

New Jersey is an ‘effing joke in this. The state caps property tax deductions for its residents at $10,000 ... but somehow it’s unconstitutional when the Federal government imposes the EXACT SAME limit?
