Sadly, the Germans have lingering effect of guilt for the crimes of the Nazi generation. The present generations feel guilt for things they did not do. They have been brainwashed. They are ashamed of their own culture, their own language, their own genes. We have a parallel situation here in America. Its called white guilt.
