Wonder of wonders, Manning could end up handing a safe Senate seat for Democrats to the GOP, balancing out the loss in Alabama for the Grand Old Party. Not likely. Cardin will win the nomination and the election.

Manning could end up handing a safe Senate seat for Democrats to the GOP... If it looks like that might actually happen, Manning will be offered a tenured faculty position at Harvard, Stanford, or Berkeley, and strongly advised to take it.
