The fallout continues from the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency’s false alert this month warning the public of an incoming ballistic missile. On Monday, Gov. David Ige told reporters a reason for the delay in clarifying the alarm was that he didn’t know the password for his Twitter account.

Since the incident, which spread panic across the state with people scrambling to take shelter, an investigation by the agency and the Federal Communications Committee revealed that Hawaii did not have a protocol in place to reverse the false alarm.

This is why I don’t think this was some test. I think it was simply an error by incompetent fools. If it was some test put forward by our government, as some suggest, I doubt these liberals would be willing to look so foolish in the interest of national security.

Never. The retraction should have gone out over several other media, specifically broadcast, well before this twit had a chance to tweet on twitter.

I’m not surprised the Gov. didn’t know the twitter password...

Why would he be handling the government twitter feed...?

Just more BS...

This is a bunch of BS. The whole story is insulting to the intelligence of Americans. Even democrats! That’s setting the intelligence bar pretty low...

This is a democrat run state process and has nothing to do with National Defense.

This entire mess is state generated, state run, screwed by the state.

Knowing these cats the way I do honestly doesn’t surprise me one bit on just how incompetent they are. They work their way up the good old boy chain of command until someday they actually get to drive the bus. In this case they drove the bus right off a cliff.

This looks a lot like a “dog ate my homework” excuse.

If twitter is your official method of getting critical information out, you had better darned well know your password.

Duh.

Thank you! Seriously! Is this really going over the media’s head?
I hope they don’t rely on Twitter these days for emergency notification! That’s the last place I would look.
