I really feel bad for the Haitian people, as they got fleeced by the Clinton Foundation, and after a horrible earthquake and multiple hurricanes they needed help. On top of that, they’ve had to deal with political corruption that is amongst the worst in the world. People are people, and children down there also suffer.

There are multiple ways Haiti could increase its socioeconomic status, and offer a much better life for their people. I know many very, very bright Haitians, and they go down to Haiti to help, but it’s a tough battle. It’s very hard to fight political corruption (as we are seeing in the US right now), but maybe one step would be for expatriated successful educated Haitians to run for political office in Haiti. That’s a lot to ask, however, for those who’ve built better lives for their families.

Sadly, as in most 3rd world places (aka, sh**hole) the connected elite don’t seem to have it too bad. And the peons continue to suffer.
