You would think that as a journalist, she would have developed a good sense of who was dangerous. Yet, this freak fooled her with a good story. Serial killers get good at what they do, and they apparently can get very convincing. As for journalists, they survived every previous story, so they tend to get overconfident on their ability to survive another dangerous situation.
