Sukhoi, thanks again for your continuing to post interesting articles regarding all things aviation and military.
I always thought this choppers looked odd. But, they were tremendous workhorses. Interestingly, they were good in the mountains . . . probably better in actual operations at high altitude than the handbook performance shows. They were seen often as rescue helicopters in the Alps.
