I took my son in ATL last Monday morning for a flight back to college and I was amazed at the number of homeless we passed on the way to check in. When we took the train from the hotel (that runs between the airport and rental car facility) there were several folks asleep on the floor as we were waiting in the train.

The complaints from police follow a change in enforcement. They said the city of Atlanta law department has instructed the officers not to do the daily sweeps they once did. That change means they cannot enforce basic trespass laws. Police estimate the homeless population has tripled since the change in policy and the end of the count was before the weather turned cold.

Ok...I dont get it.
If i were homeless...the LAST DAMN place i would chose to make camp is the airport.
1.Aint no work.
2. People coming through are pissed and broke because..they came through the airport. No free money.
3. Food is high and sucks.
4. And...who the f#ck in their right mind would choose to BE in that airport period. Id rather be in a hospital, jail, or a jehovah witness church...than any major airport.
I dont get their angle. Yeah...its warm...but thats it.
