I can’t speak for the Army, but I’m in several FB groups for submariners. Most of the groups are for Cold War bubbleheads, but a few have active-duty submariners in them and they are like a different breed altogether: progressive as can be, pro-gay in the Navy, pro-females on boats, fast to be offended, etc. Basically much more SJW than Steely-Eyed Killer of the Deep.

I know of only one similar "couple", and both males were Cold War Bubbleheads.

They found a couple on one of my boats. Locked them in the Chiefs quarters until we could meet an ocean tug and off-load them.
