I don’t hate the Civil rights movement as it pertains to blacks and minorities. In fact, it was necessary. I do have some particular qualms with the Civil Rights Act which was a government overreach, guaranteeing a loss of individual rights.

I also believe in the Right to free Assembly. The very idea of the Government telling me who I can and cannot associate with is in direct conflict with my God Given Freedom.
The Civil Rights Act should have only mandated how the Government treats individuals, not how one Citizen interacts with another Citizen.

The opposite of crazy (Jim Crow) is still crazy (forced integration in private businesses). What they should have done with the forced integration clauses was to give them an expiration date, say, in 20 to 25 years. By then, most people would have warmed to the idea of serving all people and the idea that all people are equal before God. There would be few racist businesses formed after the expiration date, IMO.
