Obama weaponized the last shutdown. Anyone who watches the TV show The Deadliest Catch (Alaska crab fishing) may recall that in 2013, Captain Colburn of the crab boat the Wizard appeared before a congressional committee and appealed to be allowed to fish.
That SOB Obama made it as difficult as possible, closing down outdoor national parks, monuments, etc. Even the White House.
All this time I thought it was because the crab boats needed Coast Guard cover in case a boat got in trouble in the middle of the Bering Sea. But here, they work but don’t get paid.
Did he order certain agencies to stand down, knowing it would put pressure on the `pubs? (And keeping in mind their spaghetti spines.)

Turn down the heat in non-essential federal buildings just enough so the pipes don’t burst. Including the Capitol building with its offices . Anything more would be unjustified without appropriations.
I’m sure he and the wife have warm coats they could appear in as they discuss the necessity of actually stopping unnecessary spending during the shutdown, at least where it doesn’t touch on things like national defense.
