I’m sure they do. They’re probably directed to come in over the weekend and drink margaritas.

Congress has on one or more of Asians essentially proven that they are non-essential

During the Obama Government Shutdown, we were taking a long weekend in San Francisco. We love the Headlands Overlook, above the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge. We have been there tens of times and never have seen a Ranger anywhere around. That weekend, for the first time in our history, there was a gate across the driveway up and there were two Rangers at the gate....preventing even byciclists from accessing the Headlands Overlook. Appalling use of resources just to make the people angry. I WAS angry, but not at the Republicans.

All of their pay will be retroactively restored. All if it. Every dime. Stop with the histrionics.

Makes a lot of sense that the military should be paid during a shutdown. Many are putting their lives on the line. The politicians,on the other hand, being responsible for said shutdown should definitely forfeit their pay for the duration. That would mean no back pay as well. This should provide inducement for them to accomplish their jobs as they are supposed to.

Well then, I certainly see no issue with cutting the thermostats in non-critical federal buildings back to just the level to prevent damage from freezing.

Especially the Capitol and other Congressional offices (they haven’t done their jobs, and are making a point of NOT doing their jobs so they can NOT uphold the Laws in immigration, so how critical can they possibly be?).

Wouldn’t want to make THOSE contractors eat the bills unnecessarily any more than we would for our servicemen. Right? *nudge*wink*

I wonder if SCOTUS would consider a reduction in THEIR central heating (or air conditioning along with the rest if the Democrats drag their heels long enough) to be a pay cut forbidden by the Constitution?

Remember to tell everyone who gripes that the Democrats chose this, and not paying the military if it comes to that, for the sake of illegal aliens.
