This is absolutely true. I got almost the exact same types of images back from searching DuckDuckGo with “Europe History People”.

WHY????

There is no way DuckDuckGo is it’s own independent search engine.

Same results from dogpile and yahoo image search as well. Is there no image search left that doesn’t just piggypack off google?
