I had a hummingbird that used to come tap on the window wherever I was at in the house in order to get me to fill the feeder. As soon as he could see I got up he’d make for the back door to wait for me to come out and then hover right in front of me all the way to the tree where the feeder was always hung.
He’d only do it if the feeder was bone dry.
