...from a practical standpoint the ‘ideal temperature’ is as close to the current one as possible.

This, most assuredly, is NOT science.

What’s kinda comical is that the “average temperature” over the whole planet could remain constant, but local fluctuations could be wild, causing great suffering.

Meanwhile, the average could change, but if local fluctuations were minimal, it would not cause suffering. e.g. what if the poles got a lot warmer and the equator got a lot cooler Imagine the entire surface averaging, in any one location, between 60 and 80 degrees during the summer. We might have less land mass, but it would be a veritable paradise. And condos in Antarctica would be the rage, and vineyards in Siberia.

Precicely. The article must be an op-ed piece, because it drips with bias.

Rapid temp change? You mean the one that is “paused”? Perhaps you should talk to an alarmist infamous for creating the fake hockey stick graph...oh I see you do...oh yes he is “distinguished”.

UNFORTUNATELY, Dana, THE EXPERTS are on a payroll that lends to an agenda and many years back the data that was coming out was proved to be false

Has it occurred to anyone that climate change maybe a natural and necessary cycle for the earth?

.............not only that but is penultimate arrogance on the part of man to think he can do a damn thing to change the temperature of the earth................

....man is to climate what an ant is to elephants in an elephant corral................

I spoke with a number of climate scientists who agreed that to minimize the risks associated with rapid human-caused climate change, from a practical standpoint the ‘ideal temperature’ is as close to the current one as possible.

...

That’s a very conditional and political response and therefore does not answer the question.

The best indicator of climate change would be temperatures in Mammoth Cave and or Carlsbad Caverns. The temperature with in a deep cave is the defacto average temperature at that point on the earth.

If that temperature varies over say 10 years or perhapa a hundred years, there has been climate change.

Locally, that invariable temperature is 55° Fahrenheit

I’ve really come to enjoy seeing Dr. Goebbels’ face after these propaganda egestions. Keep it up. Thanks!

Texas Tech’s Katharine Hayhoe agreed, noting that human civilization has developed in the relatively stable climate of the past 10,000 years.

Relatively stable? 12,000 years ago, much of the northern US was covered in 2 miles of ice. I think the fact that all that ice melted in just a couple thousand years suggests her argument could be flawed. What about how hot it was when dinosaurs existed on the planet and life was more abundant than it is today? Wouldn't that climate be better than our current one? It is suspected that the oxygen content of our atmosphere was richer as well. I wonder if there is a correlation there.

They are all full of bologna.

he’s interested in helping his fossil fuel industry benefactors.

Please name the benefactors and identified the quid pro quo. Or are you just reciting the typical ignorant false premise.

Outstanding move on Pruitt’s part!

What is the ideal temperature of the Earth?

They can’t give a straight answer!

For example, his research has shown that at warmer temperatures, reproduction of malaria-transmitting parasites increases rapidly.

No sh!t, Sherlock. It's a tropical disease. By definition it thrives in warmer climates.

That being said, based on your own "research", the climate in the southern United States must have been at least a little bit warmer 100+ years ago than it is now. After all, malaria-transmitting parasites need warmth to thrive, and up until the 1920s, malaria was a genuine health risk for people living south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Nothing biased in the “oil industry allies” phrase is there.

I wish more attention was given to just how fossil fuels advanced civilization and helped/helps raise nations out of poverty. Quite frankly oil saves lives.

I for one am willing to put up with a slight raising of surface temp (which I dispute are solely based on human activity) for more nations having better agriculture, better roads, heat that is not from dung, and big bad building like schools and hospitals.

Science uses the scientific method.

Climate “science” does not use the scientific method.

Any questions?

Yes. It has occurred to just about everyone who does not have a climate agenda.
