House Report Concluded Pakistanis Made ‘Unauthorized Access’ To Congressional Servers (Rosiak)
Daily Caller ^ | 1/16/2018 | Luke Rosiak

Posted on 01/17/2018 7:39:04 AM PST by bitt

House investigators concluded that Democratic IT aides made unauthorized access to congressional servers in 2016, allegedly accessing the data of members for whom they did not work, logging in as members of Congress themselves, and covering their tracks, according to a presentation summarizing the findings of a four-month internal probe.

Their behavior mirrored a “classic method for insiders to exfiltrate data from an organization,” and they continued even after orders to stop, the briefing materials allege. There are indications that numerous members’ data may have been secretly residing not on their designated servers, but instead aggregated onto one server, according to the briefing and other sources. Authorities said that the entire server was then physically stolen.

When acting on the findings, Democratic leadership appear to have misrepresented the issue to their own members as solely a matter of theft, a comparison of the investigators’ findings with Democrats’ recollections and a committee’s public statement shows, leading 44 Democrats to not conduct protective measures typically taken after a breach — including informing constituents whose personal information may have been exposed. (A list of the involved members is below.)

The presentation, written by the House’s Office of the Inspector General, reported under the bold heading “UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS” that “5 shared employee system administrators have collectively logged into 15 member offices and the Democratic Caucus although they were not employed by the offices they accessed.” It found indications that a House “server is being used for nefarious purposes and elevated the risk that individuals could be reading and/or removing information” and “could be used to store documents taken from other offices.” The server was that of the House Democratic Caucus, a sister group of the DNC that was run at the time by then-Rep. Xavier Becerra.

The aides named are Imran Awan, his wife Hina Alvi, his brothers Abid and Jamal, and his friend Rao Abbas, Pakistani-born aides whose lives are filled with reason for concern. Abid’s Ukranian wife Natalia Sova and Haseeb Rana were also involved in the Awans’ activities but departed the House payroll prior to the investigation.

So? We “discover” all this stuff and NOBODY GOES TO JAIL! What’s the point of “discovering” it?

Well, this part of the story is that they had access to it, and boy did they ever access it. The next part of the story would be what they accessed and who they gave it to.

This story is huge, it is also on the active mind of POTUS who has tweeted about it if I’m not mistaken?

“What’s the point of “discovering” it?”

The investigations are designed to dig stuff up then bury it deep. Why should FBI look into criminal counts when Congress has done an investigation?

Then, as police monitored the server as a primary piece of evidence, they discovered in January that it was taken from under their noses and replaced with a different computer.

WTF? Were these the Keystone Cops? Why wasn't the FBI involved?

The Office of the Inspector General of the House of Representatives, reported that “5 shared employees of Pakistani origin (working exclusively for some 45 Democrats members), collectively logged thousands of times into 15 member offices and the House Democratic Caucus although the Pakistani IT's were not employed by the member offices they accessed.”

The OIG found indications that a House “server is being used for nefarious purposes and elevated the risk that individuals could be reading and/or removing information” and “could be used to store documents taken from other offices.”

The server was that of the House Democratic Caucus---- a sister group of the DNC----that was run at the time by then-Rep. Xavier Becerra.

(NOTE Becerra is now the California AG----at the time Cong Becerra headed the House Democratic Caucus, he saw nothing amiss in this activity, and did not warn members of security breaches nor did he notify Capitol Hill L/E).

==========================================

The single most shocking activity (out of many examples) is that, as a US govt employee, Imran Awan spent months at a time IN PAKISTAN---during which time he worked on Democrats' IT files.

As Frank Miniter noted in Forbes, Imran Awan was born in Pakistan and got a green card through Chuck Schumer-sponsored "immigration lottery system,"----- similar to Sayfullo Saipov, the Uzbeki terrorist who killed eight people in New York in Oct.

Awan became a U.S. citizen in 2004 and earned an IT degree from Johns Hopkins. He did not work for any of the six officially vetted IT firms that do work for congressional offices.

Even so, Debbie Wasserman Schultz not only brought Awan aboard but hired his wife Hina Alvi and other family members, though none had degrees in information technology.

Imran Awan and his associates should have been cleared through a background check but Miniter found “no public proof that the Awans and the others were even vetted by Capitol Police.” Awan had access to information from members the House Intelligence and Foreign Affairs committees, but as Andrew McCarthy noted, Awan could not possibly have qualified for a security clearance.

Ace reporter, Luke Rosiak, of the Daily Caller, found evidence that Imran Awan was spending three months or more in Pakistan every year, and “was doing his job remotely from Pakistan.”

Awan accessed a server controlled by Rep. Xavier Becerra, once on Hillary Clinton’s short list as a running mate and now attorney general of California. When the Capitol police sought to obtain the data, Awan served up a fake image of the server.

Awan was then banned from the congressional computer system but Debbie Wasserman Schultz duly kept the IT man on her payroll for more than six months.

Forbes' Miniter wonders if Awan has something on DWS and notes that court filings reveal his threats to women. Awan was also “working in Rep. Wasserman Schultz’s office while she was head of the DNC—and when she lost the post after emails leaked or were hacked from the DNC.”

Wasserman Schultz came up with the Democrats' old reliable excuse to make Awan into a victim .....that Awan was “put under scrutiny because of his religious faith,” and that “the right-wing media circus fringe” was jumping to conclusions.

Awan’s attorney Chris Gown, a former aide to Bill and Hillary Clinton, said Awan’s arrest for bank fraud was “clearly a right-wing media-driven prosecution by a United States Attorney’s Office that wants to prosecute people for working while Muslim.”

What does Imran Awan have on Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and why won’t Democrats speak out against the abuser? What did Awan do with all the sensitive data? What does Xavier Becerra know, and when did he know it? If FBI bosses know the answers they aren’t talking, but some realities are clear.

The United States had no need for Imran Awan or taxi driver Sayfullo Saipov. Likewise, there was no need for any member of Congress to hire Imran Awan, who did not work for properly vetted IT firms, did not pass a background check, and accessed sensitive data without a security clearance.

Democrats had even less reason to hire Awan’s unqualified wife and family members, who show the negative effects of chain migration. The immigration lottery system may be a winner for terrorists and an abusive Muslim grifter and his family. On the other hand, it’s an outright loser for the United States.

I think someone ought to sit down and write the whole amusing story up, and then make it into a movie. It’ll be laughable and totally true.

They are going to blame all of the Trump collusion and everything else that happened in the 2016 elections on the two Pakistanis.

Prediction: Both will be dead by March 1.

Is there not a single hero out there to stand up and demand justice? Can we not get anyone to refer for grand jury indictments? This episode makes it seem DOJ is a complete wipeout, as well as the majority of Congress.

Becerra’s House Democratic Caucus knew about problems and tried to stop them, according to the presentation, but the suspect defied him. Based on other members’ accounts, Becerra does not appear to have warned other offices that might have been affected.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

becerra seems to be the lynch pin that brought awans to DC?

looks like he blew town in the nick of time to sanctuary state of cali. somebody needs to get becerra to testify to how he got this fraud started, imo.
