Brave man
He nails it
So what does this say about a weak controlled Pope ( or a conniving ideological Pope) and the future of the Church?
It sounds to me like the Pope has had to “walk back” his outrageous statements because even he sees that he has gone too far.
I grew up Catholic, and have been indifferent to the Catholic Church for some time (since I believe if I am not actively part of it, I don’t have any say in their affairs) but the comments I have seen coming from this Pope nearly since the day he occupied that station have increasingly angered me.
Even this semi-retraction seems feeble to me, since it is one drop going the other way in a fire hose stream of Marxist rhetoric going the other. It seems like I cannot pass a day without reading another act by this Pope that stirs anger in me.
Yesterday, I read that as he was flying to Chile, he was his handing out the picture of the child who was injured in atomic bomb blast at Nagasaki with the caption “The Fruits of War”. Maybe he would have been better served to hand out images of Japanese soldiers in Nanking throwing a baby from one bayonet to the other, or the brutal beheading of prisoners on the Bataan Death March, or even the US Navy fliers fished from the water (by the surviving IJN vessels at the Battle of Midway) who where tied to water filled drums and thrown over the side of the ships. Alive.
This Pope has gotten too vocal and far-reaching for me to avoid criticizing.
