Well, after all the homeless were shipped out of South Park to SoCal, what did you expect? Funny how a cartoon explains our current state of affairs better than the media...
Unfortunately homelessness is usually a lifestyle choice. How many are alcoholics or drug addicts. It’s what they choose. Work is hard.
Last winter I was flying from LAX to Springfield Missouri to visit family in the area. Lady in the seat next to me was flying to the Branson area to house hunt. She was from a gated community in OC and was telling me about their move and why. She and Hubby owned an internet biz (didn’t tell me what) and could live anywhere as long as they had net access.
After 1 week, the airline we flew only goes certain days, I saw her again in the airport after check in. She had bought a 3500 square foot log style home in some small podunk on Table Rock Lake and was on her way home to list their house and get moved asap. She said she paid cash for the house in Missouri.
So all these tent dwellers get free money and food from the state to live there? They got better camping gear than I do.
Keep it classy, Cali !! Advertise more free stuff and non-enforcement of laws. THEY WILL COME ! ! !
I don’t know that these people get taxpayer money.
Kansas doesnt look like any of that. But we enforce marijuanna, immigration laws as they were written, and you have to work before you get any public assistance.
Cali’s only hope is to buy all these slackers plane tickets to Hawaii.
I’m old enough to remember when California was a nice place to live... for everyday people. Not just ‘nice’ for the wealthy thug ‘elites’ who have turned the place into a third world hellhole.
Nice ending for her. Getting in a lifeboat before the ship goes under. There’s no excuse for a bountiful, huge state such as this to be in this state of affairs.

Actually, I was right here at Free Republic, passionately working to stop the Bush-McCain Amnesty in 2005.
Those were amazing days.
Free Republic was almost unified against Amnesty in that period.
There is no question in my mind that the internal GOP insurrection that stopped Amnesty in 2005-2008 began right here - on these pages - and spread to the rest of the country.
But, that's ancient history.
Today, at least 50% of Free Republic members support Amnesty, and Immigration Hawks, like me, are routinely shouted down and labeled as Trump “haters.”
